Study guide for mid-term

The midterm will focus mostly on chapters 4-9.  It is made up of 60 multiple choice questions ( 24 stand alone and 36 document related) as well as an essay worth the remaining 40 points.  To get all 40 points on the essay, it must include:

A strong thesis in the opening paragraph
3 well developed supporting paragraphs that use the documents provided in the test.
A strong conclusion.

It would be in your best interest to study old tests and quizzes as well as homework assignments passed back.

Imperialism Newsletter

You are to design and create a 4 page newsletter using microsoft office publisher that will discuss American imperialism in the year 1900.  You will be writing in the year 1900.  You must include at least 4 the following topics:

The sinking of the Maine
The Battle of Manila Bay
The Battle of San Juan Hill
A brief bio of Teddy Roosevelt and the Rough Riders (Remember he is not president yet!)
The revolt in the Philippines
Hawaiian annexation
Anti-imperialist movement

You must also have:
 a political cartoon
two photographs
a letter to the editer
